Welcome to make ice cream at Koivuranta Farm.
At the Koivuranta Ice Cream Workshop, ice cream is created in the heart of the Finnish countryside, surrounded by forests and stories. These flavours and moments stay with you.
The Koivuranta Ice Cream Workshop is a guided experience of approximately two hours for small groups at Koivuranta Farm in rural Mikkeli. During the workshop, you create your own ice cream flavours: you design the flavour profiles, decorate the ice cream labels, mix the ice cream and, of course, taste along the way. Throughout the day you hear stories about life on the farm and, towards the end, meet the farm’s cows. Weather permitting, the ice cream is enjoyed outdoors by the pasture, and at the end of the day you take the remaining ice cream home as a memory of the experience.
The workshop is hosted in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere by Susanna, a member of the Koivuranta farm family.

Koivuranta is an organic farm that raises Eastern Finncattle, known as "kyyttö", one of Finland’s native cattle breeds.
The cows graze on the same forest pastures by the lake as the farm’s first cows did in the 1930s. Calves live together with their mothers, and animal welfare is a visible and important part of everyday life on the farm.
Koivuranta ice cream is made from the local farm milk and berries from nearby forests and local farms. The flavours reflect Finnish nature and the seasons, including berry classics such as blueberry, lingonberry, cranberry and sea buckthorn, as well as seasonal specialities.
Koivuranta ice cream has been awarded the D.O. Saimaa label, which represents high quality, regional identity and responsible production. Choosing a D.O. Saimaa–labelled product is an ethical and sustainable choice.
